ENVIRONMENTAL
ISSUES
The
ECTS
is
aware
of
the
environmental
impact
of
holding
a
large
congress,
and
is
working
closely
with
its
suppliers
and
staff
to
ensure
that
environmentally
friendly
policies
are
in
place.
For
the
Athens
congress
the
ECTS
has
made
the
following
“green”
arrangements:
CATERING
Catering
during
the
congress
will
be
provided
by
Aria
Gefseon.
Aria
Gefseon
S.A
joins
ECTS/IBMS
in
the
goal
to
stage
an
environmentally
friendly
catering
service.
They
recognise
that
catering
to
ECTS/IBMS
has
the
potential
to
generate
considerable
amount
of
waste.
Their
environmental
policy
will
secure
an
environmental
friendly
operation
and
will
enhance
the
eco
friendly
image
of
the
company.

PRINTING
ECTS
is
committed
to
ensuring
that
printing
is
kept
to
a
minimum
and
that
promotional
methods
focus
more
on
the
website
to
reduce
the
amount
of
waste
paper.
The
Final
programme
book
will
be
printed
on
recyclable
paper,
all
printing
stations
will
contain
recyclable
paper
and
all
flyers
handed
out
by
the
ECTS
will
be
on
recyclable
paper.
Abstracts
will
be
made
available
online
and
on
a
CD-ROM.
The
abstract
book
will
not
be
made
available
to
everyone
but
delegates
have
the
opportunity
to
purchase
a
copy.
This
way
printing
of
the
abstract
book
will
be
kept
to
a
minimum.
The
abstract
book
will
be
printed
on
FSC
(Forest
Stewardship
Council)
certified
paper.
