Late
Breaking
Abstract
submission
has
now
closed
The
Scientific
Programme
Committee
invites
you
to
submit
your
research
for
the
late
breaking
abstract
category.
Accepted
abstracts
will
be
presented
orally
at
the
Athens
Congress
during
the
Hot
Topics
session
on
Wednesday
11
May
2011.
The
submission
website
will
open
on
Friday
4
March
and
close
on
Monday
14
March
at
midnight
Central
European
Time.
The
Committee
realises
that
the
most
exciting
and
rapidly
advancing
research
may
not
be
ready
at
the
time
of
the
regular
abstract
submission
deadline.
The
late
breaking
abstracts
category
permits
later
submissions
of
new
experiments
and
clinical
trials.
Part
of
submission
includes
a
justification
for
submission
under
this
competitive
category,
as
only
a
limited
number
of
abstracts
will
be
selected.
The
category
is
not
intended
to
offer
a
second
deadline
for
standard
abstract
submissions.
Abstracts
should
only
be
submitted
as
late-breaking
abstracts
if
they
meet
the
following
criteria:
- The
work
was
not
complete
and
could
not
have
been
submitted
at
the
time
of
the
regular
abstract
deadline
on
10
December
2010
- The
abstract
contains
work
that
is
original
and
has
not
been
previously
published
nor
has
been
submitted
to,
presented
at,
or
is
under
consideration
for
any
other
scientific
meeting
- The
work
is
novel,
of
major
significance,
evidence-based,
and
has
scientific
merit
As
part
of
the
submission,
authors
must
explain
why
the
work
is
novel
and
significant
enough
to
be
considered
for
the
Hot
Topics
session
and
must
certify
that
the
results
became
available
after
the
regular
deadline
of
10
December
2010.
A
limited
number
of
late
breaking
abstracts
will
be
accepted.
Late
breaking
abstracts
will
either
be
accepted
as
an
oral
presentation
or
they
will
be
rejected.
They
will
not
be
eligible
for
a
poster
session.
Late
breaking
abstracts
will
not
be
published
in
the
abstracts
supplement.
Authors
will
be
notified
of
the
Scientific
Programme
Committee's
decision
on
a
late-breaking
abstract
by
Friday
1
April
2011.
